Drug Prices Increased 3x Faster Than Inflation

The latest paper from Drs. Hernandez, San-Juan-Rodriguez, Good, and Gellad examines the effect of manufacturer discounts on list prices of brand name drugs in the US. The authors found that, despite the discounts, prices still rose three times faster than inflation over the period of 2007-2018. "List prices are very important, but they are not the full story," Hernandez told STAT.
